![]() Additionally, the elevators had nice new screens in them to select a floor, but I would have preferred a smart dispatch system, where floors are selected from the lobby and then the elevators are assigned in an optimal way. RFID is so standard in hotels now, it just seems antiquated to use a magnetic stripe card reader. The only place I found myself wishing the ship was newer was the elevators and card readers. For example, it wasn't faux wood paneling falling off, but a few scratches in otherwise premium finishes, or older style faucets. ![]() I think if it was a longer cruise with sea days, this could have made a difference, but the ship had plenty to explore during my time onboard.įinishes were a touch dated in places, but in a way that made the ship seem luxurious rather than cheap. While I was originally disappointed to hear that Allure was one of the older Oasis-class ships and hadn't been amped, I could barely tell at all. Before this I had only been on ferries for a few hours at a time. My family is very anti-cruise and anti-beach, but after watching dozens of cruise videos on YouTube, I jumped at the chance to join my friend and try it out. For context, I've been to 28 countries and 43 states- roughly half with parents and half solo. 20M here- just disembarked Allure's first 3 night out of Port Canaveral, was traveling with a 28M friend.
